Missions

And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth.  Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Amen.    (Matthew 28:18-20 NKJV)

The following are a few of the missions we support:

Monroe Church of Christ, Monroe, Wisconsin

Concentrating our mission work here in the U.S., we have recently made the decision to help support this small congregation in the state of Wisconsin.  Monroe Church of Christ is located at 103 20th Ave North, Monroe, Wisconsin.  A small congregation located in the southeastern part of Wisconsin, they have a website (http://monroe.churchofchrist.info) and a Facebook page under Monroe Church of Christ.  Their minister is Derek Glover.  A little information from Derek about his family and this congregation is below.

Derek and his wife, Nicki, met in college at Harding. They have 4 children:  Anna-Kate (11), Thomas (9), Oliver (4), and Jack (2). The Glovers moved to Monroe in late 2016 when they learned Monroe had been without a preacher for many years and were considering dissolving.

The church was planted here in 1974 and the building was constructed by the members around that time. It’s always been small, as are most congregations in this state, but it has grown some over the last few years and has a great foundation of young families and strong older Christians.

Church of Christ Disaster Relief

  • Churches of Christ Disaster Relief Effort immediately responds to any major disaster in the continental United States. We contact the leadership of local Churches of Christ in or near a major disaster area. If the leadership says their local congregation wants to help, we send and turn over to that congregation truckloads of emergency food, personal hygiene, infant care, water, cleaning supplies, and pallets of additional basic needs, for them to distribute to the disaster victims. These supplies are to be given to anyone affected by the disaster, regardless of race, creed, origin, gender, or religious preference. We are a 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation. that employs fifteen paid personnel. The success of our organization though is because of the hundreds of volunteers that help us. Volunteers help us pack the majority of these supplies in our Nashville warehouse so they are ready to be distributed as soon as they’re received, even our truck drivers are volunteers. Local Church of Christ congregations across the country volunteer their time and distribute the provided supplies to the disaster victims in their area.
